Maurice Domingue

Maurice Domingue was born in 1918 in Montreal. He attended the Montreal School of Fine Arts for two years, and then took night courses at the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts for approximately 10 years. In these institutions, he learned to paint with oil and especially water colors with masters such as Goodridge Roberts, Arthur Lismer and Jacques de Tonnancour. At the age of 26, he entered the printing trade, which he left for good in 1979 to devote himself fulltime to painting. A landscape artist at heart, he loves unknown places which he renders with a bold brush. He is a member of the Canadian Association of Water Colorists and the Institute of Figurative Arts.
