Any Criss, Any Simon

Any Criss, also known as Any Simon signs her paintings under two pseudonyms. She was born in 1945 and lived and worked in Paris until 1995. She obtained a diploma from the Graduate School of Art in 1969. In 1975 she taught sketching and sculpture at the French State Education. In 1987, she opened a private art-school near Paris. Her present Studio is in Port Marina Baie Des Anges, in the South of France. Since 1987 she has been registered at ADAGP and belongs to an avant-garde group called “Le Regard vers l'Art” in Paris.

Owing to higher Art-Training and to thirty years of professional career, she masters two aspects of artistic Expression: Expressionism of Abstract painting and of Figurative painting. The artist is known to work with utmost speed, the hand out stropping the mind, in Pollock and Hartung's ways. Her technique involves compounding stretcher on a canvas, with paint or vanish acrylic paint, and generous mixture.

Any Simon’s paintings are valued in public sales in Drouot, Montaigne, Versailles, Neuilly, and Montreal just to name a few. She has done many group and solo exhibitions in Paris and in provinces, such as the Forum Gallery in Monaco. She’s also done foreign exhibitions in Great Britain, Canada, the U.S.A., and Holland. Today, over 270 of her paintings are featured in private collections in France and abroad.
